GUY ROAD in Wallington SM6

GUY ROAD

This project involved the renovation of the main roof on a property. The restoration began with the removal of the old interlocking tiles, battens, and bituminous felt. This was followed by the alignment of the rafters. We then installed Loft Roll 44 insulation. This is a flexible low density glass mineral wool quilt which is lightweight, flexible, resilient and non-combustible. It combines thermal, acoustic and fire performance. It’s odourless, rot proof, non-hygroscopic, does not sustain vermin and will not encourage the growth of fungi, mould or bacteria. We then laid a breathable membrane, followed by an eaves protection strip and JB-RED® fully pre-graded battens.

After this, we laid out plain tiles. For the valleys we used curved Valley Tiles, and every top eave course we fixed with Kro-Clips®. We then set up a Uni-Vent Rapid Ridge System® to ensure waterproof and long-lasting fixing for the ridge and hip tiles. At the verges we used black UPVC verge trim. Once the tiling was completed, lead work was carried out as appropriate. Finally, we fitted white UPVC fascias, vented soffits and RWG - deep flow gutters and down pipes.
